Dr. Barry is excited to offer a unique pediatric practice to the Santa Barbara community. As the first concierge-style practice for children on the Central Coast of California, Petite Pediatrics provides old-fashioned medicine with a modern-day approach. Providing excellence in patient care begins with prioritizing the doctor-patient relationship. Ensuring that there is an environment where children and families are comfortable, have the time to know their doctor allows for optimal patient care.
Dr. Barry is excited to have the opportunity to get to know more families and welcome new patients to the practice with Dr. Mehrdad Mehr, a pediatrician who shares her commitment to excellence in patient care and values the personalized approach that is the hallmark of Petite Pediatrics.

Mehrdad F. Mehr, MD
Pediatrician
Dr. Mehr has lived in Santa Barbara for the past 10 years and has worked at Cottage Hospital as a Pediatric Intensive Care Physician and Medical Director of the Pediatric ICU. Although he now calls Santa Barbara home, he was born in Tehran, Iran and spent his childhood in Shiraz prior to emigrating to the United States in 1981. His upbringing and education was based on the east coast and he graduated from Boston University, Cum Laude with a BA in History and Biology and earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1994. He completed his Pediatric Internship and Residency at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Rhode Island in 1997, and his Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine in 2002 at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Before moving to Santa Barbara, he worked for 10 years at two of the teaching hospitals in Boston, MA. Dr. Mehr is excited to embrace a new trajectory in his career path as a primary pediatrician at Petite Pediatrics.
